Their Love Story

Nick and Shelby met through social media and have been inseparable ever since. They started dating in December of 2017 and just a few months later they found out that they were going to be having a baby girl in 2019. “I love knowing that Nick is always there supporting me and taking care of or family no matter what. To know that I have someone that will never give up on me is the biggest gift of all.”

“We were just in our apartment when Nick proposed but he was so excited he almost gave himself away. It was very special being able to have our baby girl right there with us.” Nick proposed just before Valentines Day in 2019 using a box of chocolates and the ring was inside with a note saying “Will you marry me?” He then got down on one knee with their daughter in his hands.

“I love knowing that Shelby has and will always be there to put me in my place and remind me how amazing of a husband and father I am. She keeps me sane and encourages me to follow and achieve my dreams.”

Their Wedding Day

Although the day was overcast, cold, windy and rainy, Nick and Shelby’s wedding was warmed by the love and laughter between their closest friends and family. Their ceremony was held indoors under the string lights in the barn with a great view of the open field behind them. They added unique details throughout the venue including a Polaroid photo station, a best wishes station, and custom blankets for their guests. The car-enthused groomsmen added their own flair to the day by putting their rides on display and posing with them for photos.

Overall, the union between Nick and Shelby was incredibly sweet. Their daughter, Kendal, was a flower girl and came down the aisle in a remote controlled Audi and joined her parents for the ceremony. Their officiant was Shelby’s grandfather, which made the whole ceremony even more sentimental. Before being officially announced as man and wife, they had a sand unity ceremony with their daughter.

After the ceremony, the newlyweds enjoyed formal dances with their parents - Shelby even included a special surprise dance for her mom. Nick and Shelby’s best friends delivered heartfelt and humorous toasts and both of their fathers gave meaningful speeches. Nick took Shelby by surprise during the cake cutting and she quickly got him back, which ended in laughter and smiles from their guests. After dinner, everyone got out to the dance floor and enjoyed the celebration together.

Our Favorite Memory

Nick and Shelby’s wedding featured a lot of unique elements that we hadn’t seen at other weddings. The stations at the reception, blankets for guests, groomsmen’s cars, bridesmaid’s custom hangers, and seeing how genuinely happy their friends and family were for them. The groomsmen definitely entertained us with some great commentary including a quote that is too vulgar to share here, but let’s just say that the quote came after one of the groomsmen accidentally kissed the groom - and yes, you read that right! On a serious note though, our favorite sentimental memories from the day were definitely seeing the happiness between Nick, Shelby and Kendal and how they were so comfortably surrounded by all of the people that love them infinitely.
