Grant and Emma met during their time at Purdue University. They dated for nearly 4 years before their wedding. When recalling their love story, Emma said “It wasn't long into our relationship that I knew he was the one. It wasn't really one particular moment, but a combination of things.”
Grant proposed to Emma while they were vacationing in Italy on a boat ride down the Amalfi Coast. It was an amazing day for them to celebrate and enjoy their time together.
Their Wedding Day
Before the wedding, we asked Grant and Emma what they’re most excited for during the wedding. Emma responded with “I'm excited to see Grant the day of and see his reaction to my dress. I'm also excited for the band and food, as well as our first dance and the father/daughter dance.”
Their ceremony featured a pianist and cellist, which was simply beautiful. Emma incorporated a cross from her great grandmother into her bouquet. After the ceremony, their first dance was during cocktail hour in the ballroom while all of their guests were watching from the mezzanine. All of these moments came together to form a perfect, charming day.
After the wedding, Grant and Emma headed off for their “Plan C” honeymoon. Their first two plans (and their original wedding date) were cancelled due to COVID-19. They optimistically responded to the change of plans with “It’s still exciting though, it'll be so much fun!”
Our Favorite Memories
Our favorite memories included lots of laughter, pre-ceremony dance parties in the elevators (the bridesmaids were full of energy!) and seeing this wonderful group of friends come together after a long series of adjusted plans. There were plenty of opportunities to choose from to pick our favorite memory, like the best man jumping in to dance with Grant during a song that he had requested specifically for Emma, but our absolute favorite moment was just after the first look. Grant had a moment alone with Emma after seeing her in her wedding dress for the first time and he exclaimed “This is exactly what I had imagined, but even more beautiful.”
